i tried the traditional resolve carpet cleaner and it got some out, but not nearly enough.

    use pure washing up liquid, let it soak in, then remove with a sponge.

    Resolve won’t get it out and in fact you have probably worked it into the fibers. There are things that you might have tried but that still would probably have not worked being as it is oil.

    The only hope would be a steam cleaner.

    Believe it or not, try Dawn dishwashing liquid. That stuff works wonders on grease and oil, including auto grease.
    If that doesn’t work, try the liquid dishwashing detergent you use in your dishwasher. I’ve used that to clean some serious stains..

    Sol-U-Mel, it will get any grease out.

    Otherwise try Oxi Clean and warm water.

    Blot, don’t rub.
